Doubt oil sands going anywhere soon
I believe in climate change. The only question is how fast it comes upon us. Judging by the laughable response so far the human race will just have to deal with the consequences. Each nation is on a different page while half the population of North America think global warming is a bogus left wing plot. It is what it is.
That said oil = energy = money/power. Ask Pakistan what it's like having no domestic oil supply. Why would anyone in Turkey be gladly willing to convert their total life savings in CAD $ immediately this minute? Oil has a lot to do with that equation.
I think it’s wise to buy up these massively expensive assets at pennies on the dollar. With these assets oil can be produced and oil will always fetch a dollar. Don’t forget the decades of non-declining assets.
I read a quote that a Biden spokesperson thought the US Military could be “all electric” by 2030.Two days ago I took my e-bike out for a long spin. I thought I had charged it the night before but the plug wasn’t quite in the socket and I neglected to look at my power gauge. I pedaled an e-bike that is not meant to be pedaled without electric help approximately 7 km. because I ran out of power. I learned owning an e-bike is fun though it means you always have to consider its inherent unreliability. The US Military will do what it can around the edges and in some cases electric vehicles could perform well though the burning of oil will continue.
Our worldly paradox is oil is what gives the first and developing worlds its economic mojo. Oil is a cornerstone of the lives of plenty we live. Would the first “pro-green” celebrity willing to actually give up their private planes and yachts please raise their hands? What no hands up? That’s a shocker.
