Meritmat...yes perhaps My consistent thesis in my posts is that we are investors and need to look at things from that perspective answering the question -"Where going forward from today is the best place to put my money" For me the direction arrow is very clear - in 2020 in the US EVs were 2% of new car sales and in 2023 they are 7.9%.  So yes these are low numbers and yes perhaps

i blame squarely on the gov'ts distorting the free market that seeks the best blend of ICE vs EV during the transition.  Gov'ts are picking winners and losers using taxpayer's money and we all know gov'ts have the worst record of choosing winners.
