The difference between the Carbon tax and the GST is that the Carbon tax is not applied against imported goods. That is why I say the reduction in Carbon dioxide to the Atmosphere is relatively simple to calculate , It is probably very close to zero .

The carbon tax created a bunch of jobs for the bureaucrats. That's all it did.  Here is the truth.  "Everyone knew we were paying more for gas, heating and groceries because of the carbon tax. But now we know that we’re paying $82.6 million for 465 full-time employees just to fund carbon tax bureaucrats." https://twitter.com/chriswarkentin/status/1734336082085347451 ...more

- there was some SHARP CARBON EMISSIONS CUTBACKS but I CAN'T QUANTIFY if these REDUCTIONS were MORE THAN OFFSET by ORGANIC POPULATION GROWTH and HUGE NET IMMIGRATION * Ontario SHUT DOWN 5 LARGE COAL POWER PLANTS with a MASSIVE 7,500 MW GENERATING CAPACiTY (so a HUGE AMOUNT of CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) EMISSIONS were CUTBACK} * this was a VERY COSTLY DECISION that could of been MITIGATED with ...more

since i don't live in Ontario, so i go by googling In 2003, coal represented approximately 25%, or 7,560 MW, of Ontario's supply mix. In 2014, coal represented 0%, all while grid reliability and domestic supply improved. In April 2019, the federal government imposed a carbon tax on Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick. Prince Edward Island, ...more
