Petroperu

So, the board of Petroperu has offered to resign, claiming 'financial unsustainability' and 'lack of sufficient government response'.  President Boluarte said yesterday the state owned company won't be allowed to go bankrupt.  This sounds like trouble, but I really don't know what this will mean, and I'd appreciate opinions or more info that people might have.  Will the refineries they own and operate stay functional?  I had been hoping to see the pipeline functional again.  Thoughts?  Bill

There may be some execs from Vertex available to help them out; it's good to find people with a proven track record.  I mean really, any politician worth his salt should be able to run a refinery; how tough can it be?  The 10% austerity plan for this year and 30% for next shouldn't hurt much, as long as fuel continues to be supplied to all the hard to reach communities in the ...more
