Just after TIXT came out I was serioulsy considering buying some in the 30's but luckily I didn't pull the trigger.  I picked up a few shares this morning at $4.25 in the hope that Telus will repatriate the shares. It's not a good look for Telus to have this dog languishing at this price and taking it back into the fold might make people forget this little blunder.

Agreed it would be financially smart of Telus to just buy back the remianing float at this stage plus whatever premium they would offer. However, I can also see the reluctance as that may not be well received by the market and amongst shareholders who are currently sitting on large paper losses.  IMO that may prevent them from ever coming back to market to IPO the healthcare division etc in

There is also the possibility of a share consolidation along with a new name.  With a new CEO at TIXT, Entwhistle retiring and Rogers getting up to speed soon there will be a few challenges for Telus.
