25 years and still waiting for my first dividend

Where does all the profits go ?

Seriously?  There won't be a dividend in your lifetime. Gibraltar is a place holder, Florence is a cash cow, both are there to fund Yellowhead and the 3 of them to build NP....that's the plan.  All cashflow is earmarked to build a huge mining company. That's where value is created as each project gets rerated. At some point years from now that cash flow could be returned via ...more

I agree Metal. TKO and CS used to be neck and neck; TKO botched NP while CS cut the fat, moved on, and is now developing larger scale deposits. They have similar paths, but CS farther down the development road than TKO in scale, but similiar in timing of deposits. Even so, CS is not at the point of issuing dividends either. TKO may have the luxury to issue dividends once Yellowhead is producing by ...more

You don't buy mining stocks with any hope of being an income generator. You buy them as speculations only. Mining...all mining....is the worst possible business it's possible to be in. All mines eat their seed corn. An ounce or pound mined is gone forever and all that cash flow has to go back into finding more which inevitably costs more. You buy mining stocks as speculations knowing this ...more

I'll add too that market cap to NPV is the most reliable way I know to make money in the mining sector. You can gamble on drill results and discovery plays but they are pure lottery tickets.  You could buy a major like Barrick and have made no money for 10 years despite record high gold prices....or.... You look for situations like TGB where the NPV of just one project is 4 to 5x the ...more

This should be a $7 stock the day Florence starts producing.  I am not saying it will be, but it should be.  And thats at $4.25 copper.  That's just based upon the EBITDA of the two mines and a reasonable PE for the industry. If they get that tax credit, it will add about 20% of the market cap in cash.  Thats just a bonus. If copper runs up, the price will run up more. As ...more

The tax credit would be a shot in the arm for sure but I don't factor that into the math.  I don't place too much on earnings multiples either.  Mines being built tend to follow NPV where the discount to it narrows as the project gets de-risked and moves towards production and cash flow. Right now Florence has an NPV over $1 Billion...$1.2 Billion or so. The market cap of TGB is ...more

Agree with basically everything you said Metal.. As I've already noted I am of the mind set we see a "Strumpble" in the Markets... Strumpble is a market tumble as a result of Trump policy (you heard that here first) . There will be a shock to markets before we see the next leg up for TKO .

I think so too. I only own TGB and a tiny starter in Arizona Sonoran...everything else is in short term Tbills and money market. I'm looking for a good short entry on the market and if I can't put that on then I'm sitting on my hands and only nibbling on TGB .  This whole market is absurd now. Highest valuations in history, crypto madness, buy all things, ignore any negatives ...more

Simple. Keep buying every time the share price drops below $2 US. No brainer, still have 9 months or so to accumulate. Use this final year before Florence starts producing as your friend.

Agree with you about the first three mines.  However, this company will never build NP.  It will be sold as soon as it becomes marketable.  Count on that.   They will get a partner to build Yellowhead.   So, there could be a dividend sooner than you think.  However, I am still not counting on it in my lifetime.
