Not following your logic. if you are a mid to long term holder here (I am assuming you are as you post here often), waiting for the sector to turnaround  (or this name specifically), then you must be on board with the buyback strategy that the company is pursuing. They are going to be buying back shares till end of 2nd quarter before looking at reinstating the distribution. Wouldnt it bode ...more

Yes. If dividend yield is ~20% then theoretically they would be buying back 20% of outstanding shares in a year. After about 2 years or so, they should be able to double the dividend back to the original level before the crash also theoretically speaking. But their financial performance is deteriorating quarter by quarter. They need to put out a quarter or two where it stops worsening to gain ...more

"I would want my dividend back at the original level, in the next few years, then I could care less about the share price." There are many who would disagree with this. Even if the original distribution rate comes back, to ignore the share value is flawed as many are looking at huge capital losses.   Covid lows were about $25 post split. LOL I think you guys are in the wrong place. If you want share price appreciation, go buy stocks like facebook or bs digital assets like bitcoin. Share price of those stocks are not tied to actual return so they could go 5x or 10x. For REITs, what matters is the monthly dividend payment. People primarily invest in REITs to get monthly dividend and share price is just an indication of the return vs ...more

you are the one that is emotional. The company has laid out its plan, either you are on board with it or you are not. Plenty of reits that are presently paying out distributions. Why wait for one here when it is months away and you want one now.
