Can't argue with stupid. Yes there is a carbon footprint to mining, but after a year it's equal to building a thermal gas plant. The gas continues adding carbon after a year, but solar and wind don't.

You disregard my point. You can make a lot of money in sunset industries and I have. When the industry stops reinvesting the free cash flow is fabulous. But if you don't know you're in a sunset, I guarantee you'll get burnt. I've collected lots of dividends from the cigarette industry even though some countries have basically outlawed them, and others will follow.

IMO NG is definitely not as per your definition a sunset industry. So do you currently hold shares in TOU or any other NG producer? if not I think you are really missing the boat. Currently prices are down, but they will not stay down.  This again imo is a great time to buy TOU and other low debt, land rich companies.

The analogy between the natural gas industry and the cigarette industry is one of the lamest I have ever heard. Nobody needs cigarettes to live . Yet everyone needs energy . Nat gas produced in Canada is the cleanest ,most  efficient and most reliable fuel that there is anywhere on the planet Eliminating Canadian natural gas would be probably the stupidest thing this country could do , since

I have been in and out of tou. As sea level rises and climate disintegrates, popular support for anything releasing co2 will slide and governments are greedy. They won't outlaw gas, just tax it to death. I don't make the trends, I just observe.
