Did you receive cash for the partial shares that did not covert? For instance, in one account I had 128 shares of TRP. I was expecting 25 shares of SOBO (128/5 = 25.6), plus 0.6 x $29.51 ($17.70). I can double check, but I was certain there would be cash in lieu of partial shares. Anyone else get the cash component? I'm with Scotia iTrade BTW.

A further comment on the share i got. The cost is showing as ZERO. so the entire amount is a CAPITAL GAIN. If I Sell the 4,348 SOBO shares at say $30 that is a capital gain of $130,440. Something is wrong here. I have phoned BMO Investorline and they are going to look into it.

If you had sold your TRP shares at 65+ you would have had a similar capital gain from today's price. If you don't want the capital gain don't sell.

An update Of my 6 accounts with SOBO Shares, 5 of them show a cost base of $29.51. ...so far so good. My BIG Joint account shows cost as Zero. Phoned, BMO Investorline......they will fix it. GLTA PS: On another note, TRP Is treanding upwards $60.40 as I write this comment. IT will reach heights never seen b4.......I am hoping.

The value of the SOBO shares that you received would be taxed as dividend. That value wil become the ACB of your SOBO shares as well. I don't know exactly what that value is. Hopefully it will be shown on your account statement. And your bank will also send you a T3 information slip next year showing exactly how much you have to report as dividend income.
