Amazing Performance between TRP and SOBO for those who held

TRP almost back to pre-spin off price and SOBO not far off it's top. Holders have basically gotten SOBO as a special dividend. To me, it is going to show most company's parts are worth more than the whole. Also, the timing of this spin off with reduced interest rates and market segment interest could not have been much better. 

 

The next few weeks will be interesting as dividends are announced. I know the company has expressed that the dividend wiil be split between the two companies, but the trading and market seem to be saying otherwise. Most prognosticators on this board were predicting a large TRP price drop post split, which obviously hasn't happened, and also predicting a split of the dividend. My guess based on the SP reaction is that when the dividends are announced they will be in excess of the pre-split amount. SOBO should be as announced, but the market movement is indicating experts believe that TRP itself will be increasing their dividend. 


I hope other market segment giants......cough ENB.....are watching this as with interest rates predicted to drop significantly by the end of 2025 I don't see companies with strong free cash who reward their investors falling out of favour. I can see a few more of these spin outs being announced as again the parts often seem to be more valuable than the whole.
