Yukon newspapers wrote about the biggest disaster in history of mining, a cyanide spill of hundreds of millions of tons in the water of rivers. That's absolutely not true. Almost nothing was found in rivers. No human, no fish was harmed. Cyanide has a halflife of weeks, but it will also be destroyed by hydroxyperoxide as per VG SOP. The only risk is political by FN and government. It is all manageable, but depends on a political deal. I buy from time to time with a 50: 50% chance.

Because cyanide is toxic to humans, a maximum acceptable concentration of 0.2 mg/L (200 µg/L) for free cyanide in drinking water has been set. ( Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality: Guideline Technical Document – Cyanide) They found only one time 0.05 mg/l  in a River, which is usually found in rivers within a range of 0.001 - 0.05 mg/l.
