There have been other major gas discoveries in these water for several years now but sending it to Europe was against the EU/US Green agenda so they took Runnian gas instead. These produciton assets would be considered against the Paris Accord thus were not considered part of the "long term" plan for Europe. Perhaps now things will change.

The utter insanity of Decarbinization when C02 is the critical element of life which produces more water and oxygen the higher it's atmospheric density, so easily obvious in previous warminig period , is the Bolshevik's dream  of converting all other humans to feudal cattle .
