Q3 2021 - Solid Results from V20

Nice Q3 Report – Improved operating profit, huge gross margin expansion and largest backorder since 2012. The next few quarters will see a jump in net income as the backlog is filled. While restructuring continues, no major charges are expected. Many of the industries that Velan serves are returning to growth. The current net book value per share is $17.40. The sale of their Montreal property in Q3 for a $12 million gain demonstrates that book value is well below market value for other owned properties.

Excellent value here for patient investors.

This may be one of the better deep value opportunities I've seen in a while.  Long term guys got tired of the mismanaging and mediocre results and drove the price to hell.  Usually companies trading this cheap are in dying industries, that is not the case here.  They are well into a turn around at this point - could also be a takeover/privatization target.  Peak pessimism ...more
