The thing is Hammerhead is already generating FCF so this addition is accretive right off the start.. adding additional FCF is never a bad thing and with the quality of wells Hammerhead has brought on being similar to CPG's top producers with multi-zone capability, we'll see this play's metrics being fast tracked by the horsepower CPG can bring to the table.. Agree with you here , some people are negative here , hammerhead  has 30 years inventory , was planning to be net zero by 2030 , cpg won't keep all the staff so less expenses , also hammerhead have a 1.5 billion tax pool ......I think all this will gushing a lot cash flow in a short time going toward dividends , debt and buyback , now if oil average 85 to 90 $ first half 2024 the stock ...more

Wow. We were out for a BD party, came home late and here are the news. The acquisition makes a lot of sense, it's all adjacent land. But, last Friday I sold my remaining Hammerhead and this afternoon I bought more CPG. What a "great" trade!

hammerhead is a bottom up organic growth story. it will require a ton of capex for years to come and is not without risk. cpg sask asset base is low risk and predictable, not so much here... kiss your buybacks goodbye. they have over $3 billion of debt again in a high rate enviornment. lol
