Back to oil....interesting numbers

I saw a report today that stated that the LONG TERM "discount" of WCS to WTI has been 15 dollars over a couple of decades. After the TMX opened the discount fell to 12 bucks. It's now been half a year and it has stayed at that level despite the ups and downs in the oil price. The assessment was: the discount is "permanent".

AB produces 4.3 Mbpd and exports 96% of it, the last time I looked.
4.3 million barrels X 3.00 = 12,900,000 dollars a day of added revenue because of TMX
Multiplied by 350 days = 4.5 BILLION dollars a year of added revenue for AB oil producers

TMX created excess egress capacity and oil sand producers announced that they intend to quickly increase capacity at existing mines by 2 to 300 thousand barrels a day. Indeed just last month Alberta acheived a new production record.

250,000 barrels a day X 60 dollars a barrel (worst case) = 15 Million dollars a day of added revenue
350 days x 15M = 5.25 BILLION dollars a year of added revenue

That's almost 10 BILLION DOLLARS a year of added revenue caused by the TMX expansion.
(That Trudeau is sure killing the oil industry, eh?)

TMX will pay for itself with tolls over 30 years and keep pumping oil for at least another 30.
The government would like to sell it.
I think Alberta oil companies should buy it (or even MADE to buy it!)..they clearly have/will have money to burn and they are who the pipeline was built for in the first place! If taxpayers end up picking up some/any of the tab it will be yet another subsidy/gift to the oil industry and Alberta. (I will leave to somebody else to calculate the windfall of added royalties Alberta will be collecting using the numbers above)

It's great ot be talking about oil again, eh?

- WHAT a PATHETIC CLOWN you are ! - REWRITING HISTORY and GIVING the NARCISSISTIC WEF DEMOLITION AGENT the CREDIT - had there been a PRO CANADIAN FEDERAL government in power, TMX would have BEEN BUILT by Kinder Morgan at 1/5 the COST and BE OPERATIONAL at LEAST 4 YEARS EARLIER - since TMX started operating in May 2024, the WTI/WCS Price Differential has COMPRESSED by USD 10 per barrel z173

Guys , please do yourself and all of us a favor and just block the guy . Me thinks he is trolling all of you just to irritate you . And he's winning.  If we all blocked or ignored him maybe he'd go to greener pastures . I dont think he's that dumb, nobody can be . He is mentally ill and loves to troll though  .Reacting to him is feeding his illness  . I blocked him long ...more
