CIBC target updates

CIBC analyst Dennis Fong lowered his target to $13 from $15, and maintained an Outperformer rating.
 
"While we view the share price reaction to this update as overdone, we suspect it could take some time to rebuild investor confidence," Fong said in a note to clients.

With targets in the $12-13 range the banks for projecting a 85% to 92% gain including the dividend. As an income focused investor I am sitting on a 6.6% yield for the time being with potential of cap gains in the near term.

Time to scoop some more ...lol ...say you can buy today at $7.....sell in two years for $9.   Collect the dividened till then ....that will net you a20% return on capital invested ....I will take that bet all day long ....getting more dry powder for Monday ....!

The pendulum can swing both ways. The dividend will not make up if buying today at $7 and two years from now VRN is trading at $5 or lower. CPG / VRN has a history of decimating retail shareholders. I'll sit on the sidelines until the risk to reward metric is much more compelling, which for me implies a yield of about double from where it currently sits. Way too much risk with this name and ...more
