Here Is the problem while Zinc is listed as a critical mineral it is not one that is any kind of short supply!  Pretty much anywhere in the earth you punch a hole you hit zinc which is why it is always so cheap and quite often production goes down in countries like Canada.  You have to be able to make money!  As for critical being related to short supply not so much!  While ...more

This is absolute bs. Most steel is produced by China/india. I beams.  Coils , plate,  pipe, wire rod ,etc all for pennies on the dollar and is shipped here by multiple ships daily and than trucked all over Canada and USA.

China is not only the largest producer of zinc in the world but they are also the largest consumer of zinc in the world.  Needless to say there is not a disconnect!   This is why there is so much steel shipped to Canada and the US.... We can open all the zinc mines in the world problem is zinc typically is a byproduct and as I said it is sort of like Nickel punch a hole and you will ...more

No money in zinc??? You just said that right? Maybe you should quit messaging on this forum after that stupid comment ::::::: Red Dog Operations, managed by Teck Resources in northwest Alaska, is among the world's largest zinc mines. In 2023, Red Dog reported revenues of $1.596 billion from zinc sales, with a gross profit of $408 million. This represents a decrease from 2022, which saw ...more

Mr God  You take everything out of context.  First Red Dog is not in Canada.  Next it is no ordinary zinc mine!  It is one of the largest mining operations in the world but includes smelting etc.  Next profits have fallen in half in the past year!  Zinc production at Red Dog will continue to fall off over the next few years.  Lead production is a co-product to ...more

Red dog mine is running out of ore and needs to be replaced. CD has a large find that can fill that need that's why Teck is kicking the tires. I wouldn't be surprised that a deal is coming in March. If there wasn't anything worked out the AGM would be in Jan/Feb like all the other AGM's. Still more drilling news pending. There will always be a need for metal. They have so far 2 ...more

Cantex does nothing to help Red Dog's ore situation heck they can't even get a road in and have no resource established etc etc.  Further while their grades appear generally high the widths are generally much narrower say to someone that is much farther along like Fireweed.

Thanks for the valuable information. There is no money in zinc because it only makes up 6 % of tecks total revenue. GOT IT. Funny this guy shows up again after I blocked clown duck

It would help Red Dog if they ship the ore there. As for a Road... I am sure one will be built with the mining agreement.

There has also been people on this board who have claimed  there has been qoutes and possibly bid and tenders for the the road or partial  road - already.
