Cielo Waste Solutions Corp. > What kind of diesel is this?

What kind of diesel is this?

What would make this diesel so attractive that they buy it for $1.25 a litre and have to pay extra to have the sulphur content lowered when you can buy it at the pumps at any gas station in Calgary for between .85 and.99 cents a litre?
Comment by spectator51 on Nov 24, 2020 2:25pm
it's renewable product, extra premium for it.
Comment by stampsletmein on Nov 24, 2020 2:40pm
So someone who feels guilty about buying conventional diesel will want to buy it? Sorry, what am I missing?
Comment by Rp1983 on Nov 24, 2020 3:22pm
Government mandates that a certain percentage of all fuel caches be of renewable fuel or biofuel, I think 2-4% depending on the province. Right now Canada imports all their renewable fuel. In time the government will lean to increasing that percentage and push out fossil fuels

Don't get me wrong because I am a stock holder, but those are some stock pumping types of statements. Push out fossil fuels..., anyway I thank you for your input. I invested only because it's a business model that is potentially environmentally friendly that a government would put money into some day if they can roll out some good consistent volume with some real garbage (plastics and food ...more

I believe there are carbon credits for those that use the renewable diesel, but not 100 percent sure. Only reason to pay the higher price.
Comment by stampsletmein on Nov 25, 2020 10:18pm
Didn't first batch get sold to a farmer for $1.60/litre? Does a farmer need credits? Sorry not probably a good question. Don't farmers get dyed diesel for cheaper than pump price? Just a little confusing. I'll need to do some research on this.
Comment by Rp1983 on Nov 26, 2020 8:24pm
Ya their first batch sold for $1.60. I'm not sure what the dyed diesel sells for, just know they'll have their diesel desulphurized in a month and then it's a non issue

a month is very optimistic, remember they had a grand opening a year and a half ago. Their timelines have always been off in the past.
Comment by Mari2019 on Nov 28, 2020 10:26am
I agree. Don is generally way off on his timelines. He may have had a great idea here, but perhaps they need to look at someone else to move this to the finish line. PP after PP is diluting everyone who's been in here for awhile.  I like the concept but am growing weary of the fluffy press releases with not a lot of substance once they're dissected. good luck to everyone ...more

Rp1983, not sure why you address me directly since you put me ignore a few weeks back? I had to log out to read your question.  ive been in here long before their grand opening. I'm tired of the overly optimistic timelines, with over promising and under delivering. Continued dilution and an inability to secure government grants, despite tours with high ranking provincial politicians ...more

Your guess is as good as mine. All i know is they are carrying a large float for a company that sits at .08 with still lots of unknowns yet.

@stampsletmein sorry not meaning to pump but have you heard Trudeau and the liberals plan? We will still have fossil fuels but Trudeau will for sure raise the minimum percentage over time for renewable and bio fuel.
Comment by lscfa on Nov 24, 2020 8:16pm
The govt. mandates that diesel fuel sold at the pump must contain a minimum level of renewable diesel in it. Renewable diesel costs more to produce than regular diesel from fossil fuels but the govt. has created the demand for it. Importing renewable disel from the US involves a lot of transportation costs. Making renewable fuel in Canada is cheaper.

I should add that biodiesel is usually made from feedstocks of tallow, canola oil, etc. Cielo makes biodiesel from garbage which is cheaper.   https://www.cielows.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Cielo-Presentation-May-2020-Web-Version.pdf
