California lithium

Did anyone see the news piece on Lithium Alley in California....they are promoting this area in southern California near mexico as having 50% of the US need for lithium and potential to start producing in 2025....to me it seems like a pipe dream for many reasons -- lack of water, highly technical mining, laced with lots of toxic chemicals.....anyways -- it was featured on 60minutes yesterday. I am curious if anyone has any perspectives
