Longs, remember why you're here? Newbies, know the AI story?
Sharing my story and thoughts for newbies and any long-time Datametrex share holders who might be trying to remind themselves why they're here, during what seems like a difficult time -- maybe with a finger hovering over the sell button.
I bought a modest 50,000 shares of Datametrex, early last year, solely because I believe in their artificial intelligence platform; haven't sold a single one. Why would I? Nothing's changed other than they are further ahead with their plans to increase AI contracts.
Yes, their AI earnings were down, but whose earnings haven't been down this past year? Companies of all sorts, planet wide, are in a similar predicament. Considering the business world's turbulent year, I think DM has done exceptionally well, especially with it's ability to turn on a dime, jumping into unfamiliar territory, using the unexpected pandemic to bring money in -- a move that took guts and brains!
Yes, the stock price seems disappointing. But that's partly because some shareholders are only looking at the AI numbers, not considering how they were temporarily affected by the pandemic, and the DM liftoff happening soon, with so much coming in Q2. It's common for any company's sp to drop for a day or two or more after an earnings report, as impatient investors run off in search of the elusive get-rich-quick company. But as the market digests the whole story, new investors see the value and pile in, lifting the sp to where it deserves to be.
I admit, when Datametrex got into covid testing, I was a bit annoyed that their attention was being wasted on something so foreign to them and temporary. Now, I see this relatively short-term covid venture as brilliant and no different than if DM had a large bag filled with millions of dollars dropped on its head -- a windfall they plan to put towards AI and growth in general.
Forums like Stockhouse BB are great places to share thoughts, but always do your own due diligence. Typically, I "stalk" these sites, rather than commenting on them. I'm grateful for the level-headed folks who add value to the conversation, and I disregard the rest. But never make decisions based on stories like mine, or the words of any other non-professional investor or trader.
Listen. To. Marshall. Maybe join Discord for his Q and A every Monday, watch (and really listen to) recent interviews with him or email or call him directly. He may not be a PR guy, but he's smart, cool headed, cashed up, on track and in the process of putting together a topnotch team (including PR) that will take the company to the next level. Artificial intelligence is huge, and becoming more and more in demand every day. Personally, I'm glad to be a part of their journey, long, strong and confident.
It doesn't matter if you've been with DM since today, since they went public or since sometime in between; know what you own, remember why you bought and avoid making a rushed decision that you could regret later.
Sorry for the long-winded post. Best to all.
