I like the sounds of this. However, governments will need to make foreign made batteries more expensive in order to make north america competitive in this space. This points to more expensive cars or better batterry technology to reduce the price.

Tesla makes batteries oversees. General Motors, Ford and Chrysler will be making there batteries in North America. Not sure about the rest of the market but would be interested to knowing these stats. We will all see that buying an EV will make more sense for ourselves as well as for our children.

You can bet the North American Auto Maker lobbyists are busy promoting a competive pricing strategy to their governments. Tesla will need to rethink its battery sources in order to not clash with these efforts. Cheap imports will be targetted as they should. Effective governments need to work with industry to really get this going.

Good post Marshall. It's really interesting and exciting to see the electrification of all things automotive. Much potential here. Tesla, as important as it is, is only a small percentage of what's to come. Hyundai is a great example and will sell many many more cars than Tesla ever will. Best wishes all, and stay safe out there :-)
