FCC and it's aversion to Good News.

Good morning all. Another day of non-activity. FCC simply has too many stocks out there and something must be done about it. The so-called pie is sliced so thin now that no amount of good news rocks it. I hope, from here forward, that FCC does not issue any major positive announcement until this stock mess is handled. The sad part of it is all the positive announcements made over the past several months are lost. You can't get them back nor the accompanying enthusiasm that follows back. It's lost forever. It might even be more desirable to have a bigger company with more resources come in and steer FCC forward in the near future. Just my two cents.

It will rise slowly and sink quickly until they can gat rid of the massive share count. It's truly diluted down to oblivion. The last spike volumes were in the multiple millions, it needed to be done this way however I do question why the atm wasn't canceled earlier.  folks need to stop focusing on the share price. If you believe in the need for a cobalt refinery in North America as ...more

Goatburner,                     You are a feet on the groung person, bit I respectfully disagree that "the sad part of it is all the positive announcements made over the past several months are lost". I think that I understand what you are saying in terms of stock-price momentum, but Government support at Fed. and Provincial levels is ...more

ELJ- all good points. And when a reverse split is announced , are current shares frozen immediately until the RS takes affect ? Will FC be required to give shareholders fair notification , and does trading to stay open until a RS start-date ?..... Does the actual administrative paperwork by the broker firms reducing each shareholders number of shares from the RS cause a (non-trading freeze) & ...more

Hey GF.. .. Nevada copper(NCU) is going thru this right now(10:1RS).  They let SH know 2 weeks prior that it will happen Sept. 17. Their bullboard is quite active and it seems that shares are trading right up to that day then trading starts Mon. at the new price. It'll be interesting to watch anyway.

Thanks daver--- much appreciated. I'll go to that board and follow.

Generally, a public company can declare a reverse split if it obtains the approval of its board of directors.  Most often shareholder approval is not required. Here is some information for you. The information you are requesting is on the tmx site here is the link https://tsx.com/resource/en/449 Under section 8.4, I was unable to find any messaging on the sedar site for the warrants ...more

An observation in response to questions and unwarrented concerns, on the process of shares consolidation or  split(the other direction)... these action causes no "trading freeze" and is handled on a pro-rata basis, so zero impact on timing of warrents expiry, etc.. Good Decoision-making to All, ElJ

Share consolidations generally push the share price up for a few days and then the price drops like a rock until the new consolidated share settles in time down at about the price of the original pre-consolidated shares. In other words, the consolidated share often loses about %80 percent of its consolidated prices within months or a year after its consolidation date. Brent has spoken of this ...more

Thanks Digger- im most concerned that we get notification on the RS by FC, in order to review the total situation the company is planning, and have time to  (buy or sell)  on the FC symbol. Daver here referenced NCU - nevada copper-  doing a RS. Theyre on the TSX, and gave a 14 day notice.

The relative value of a company does not actually change with a reverse split.  There are just less shares issued, but their overall consollidated value remains constant.   I own both GE and CITI which have both done reverse splits 10:1 in the last year.  Neither lost 80% ... or anything close to that?  Their value has actually stayed relatively steady, so maybe they are ...more

have to agree with Digger, I know some will surch and find some good story about a few consolidations but in the more than dozen of personnal experence with them after the occasional blimp up (usually a time you can't trade because your broker house are slow at exchanging shares) it slowly crawl down and down... hope this will be one of the few good story one! will be first for me! Thanks Andre -,,,, you mention broker house slow to exchange the shares. I was thinking about that too. Yesterday I posted " will shareholders get notice of the RS from FC " ...... so we can sell in time ?  Andre, in your many RS deals, did you get enough notice to sell ? . I look forward to your answer. TY

I think that everyone should relax a bit over the potential of a reverse stock split. Let's say a stock splits 1 for 5, it really doesn't matter to the individual investor. That investor will still own the same percentage of the company. Those of you that have had bad experiences with reverse splits were likely invested in companies that were destined to disappoint in share price ...more

Hey stockdoc... your blanket assumption flies in the face of others' experience. Truth is, RS rarely work out for existing shareholders especially in the absence of revenue streams! Kinda putting the cart before the horse. Trent has already acknowledged the risk.  Relaxed and evaluating execution of business plan here.

Stokdoc : Mell already has approval for a 7-1 RS . Tough to do now w/ no revenues.... not even any estimates.  But he seems anxious to do it. Soon ! ..... but admit he has said only paired with a good calalyst. We're waiting to hear when refinery construction will start . Then we need to actually  see-to-believe dirt and walls moving . And 12 months from now is Oct 22' - Opening ...more

The intent of my post was to point out that a reverse stock split alone does not affect one's holding in the company. It is not a reason, in my opinion, to sell out an investment in FCC. If an investor loses confidence in management then it is time to sell. If an investor believes in management's ability to execute then hold but realize that there is still much risk involved in any company ...more

Gold - "Tough to do now w/ no revenues.... not even any estimates. " Gold, thought you were keeping up. There are definitely estimates and have been communicated out on several occassions. I'm sure one of the latest decks on the IR site of FCC would help you out there.... ....

Oops..... yes TS. I forgot. Yes good revenues I think in the $35 mil range.... with a pretty quick debt payback time. Even more baffling we're at .29 CA....Thanks.

Reverse stock splits are very normal for startups like fcc. I'm not disappointed in it either quite the opposite. I do wish it was a bit more aggressive than the 7-1 mentioned I would have preferred it was closer to 10-1. if the split is timed just prior to a listing on a real exchange and the startup of operations it would be  a pretty insane attempt to short the stock. In reverse ...more

stockdoc73 - absolutely right your statement; some of them seems frustrated because of their wrong timing in their purchase of FCC stocks. Additional they do not have the correct time view

thanks spankie-... (you may know) but  the RS has already been approved by shareholders last Annual meeting.
