AGM

Went to ELBM's AGM to get some straight answers to simple questions.  Some observations:
  • About 15 - 20 other people showed up.
  • Trent did a presentation that was light on specifics and heavy with BS.
  • Two questions he didn't answer:  Where is he going to get the money? When will ELBM go into production?
  • Trent got a lot of questions and a few of them got him rattled.  He couldn't answer a couple of questions and his IR guy had to step in.
  • One shareholder made a good point that no other directors attended and asked why.   Trent's reponse was BS.  He said it was to save $$.
  • Trent tried to gloss over his screwups by claiming they were because of inflation and supply chain issues.  I told him he needs to stop making excuses.  I've lost a lot $$ on ELBM and won't likely get it back.
  • Conclusion:  Outlook for the company isn't promising  They need US$60M.  Doubt anyone is going to give ELBM a cheque while Trent is still CEO.

The chairman of the board didn't show! what an incompetant entitled bunch of bs free loading SOB's. They all need to resign  This company is dead.  Thanks Trent for the big tax write off!

A serious board would have fired Trent and replaced the VP charged with the refinery project.   Incompetence at every level.
Comment by MTwallet on Oct 29, 2023 4:12pm
Disagree. Although Trent severely screwed up on building the refinery, his background is in finance and underwriting. If he can't get the 60m, no one can. As soon as he secures the money, then it might be time to step aside, or hire a highly qualified construction manager

... Trent was never suited to serve in the CEO position for First Cobalt, and thereafter, for Electra as pointed out by many of us for far too long now. That has clearly been demonstrated with missteps and screwups in his CEO role. The Board of Directors, through neglect in its oversight role, has been complicit in perpetuating this facade of leadership.  if Trent is so essential ("If ...more

I think you should do some research of his previous accomplishments before making a stupiid comment like this and every other you've made on this board. Also do some analytics of votes from the last to the previous board meeting. There's a lot smarter people than you that still think he's capable of getting the job done.
Comment by NatureBoy on Oct 30, 2023 1:06pm
Look at his bio and track record, genius! Trent's a lawyer in executive's clothing...and has played around with titles with short-term tenures at several companies. Don't embarrass yourself. Research, indeed.

Too late.  MT aka TM embarases himself every time he posts.  Clearly dillusional.

What project has Trent got into production? What refinery has he ever bulit?   I'll wait.   The guy is a better suited to work on Howe St. You say if there's anyone who will raise $60M, it's Trent. If that were true, he would have raised the money by now.   Quit defending him.  He's misled shareholders, destroyed value and failed to execute ...more

His accomplishments?  Like what? MT wallet = Trent Mell?  Trent has no accomplishent with his last two pubco's.  He raised money, had big PR's and then hit the exit at Falco; STILL nothing built there almost TEN YEAR LATER.  And now FCC/ELBM, kinda same sh1t, different pile, no? Please tho MT/TM, do tell?????? Put that foot of yours ALL the way in your mouth.   ...more

I've been looking around for Canadian projects of similar scope and cost and have concluded that virtually any project that was forced to navigate the pandemic came out the other side not just a little bit over budget, but incredibly over budget and behind schedule. For example, the Coast Guard vessel that was budgeted for $108 million and ended up costing $1.2 Billion. https://www.cbc.ca ...more

LICY is another example if I recall correctly.
Comment by Starkicker on Oct 30, 2023 3:09pm
Yes, same problem there. Shares fown 40% at Li-Cycle.I just wanted to look beyond the EV battery sector and it's the same everywhere. Even the hockey arena being built where I live went from $50M three years ago to almost $80M.

You made some good points Starkicker. Definitely something to think about and keep in mind, I was also just thinking that although inflation has not been good for Electra because it resulted in major cost overruns, if the company survives this and I think it will, as time goes by the refinery cost should effectively seem lower because a good chunk of its value was realized before the recent ...more

Exactly, everything goes up the same for everybody. Once they secure the additional funding, and they will, they can charge more for the product. Trudeau keeps mentioning the "end-to-end" Canadian supply chain, and with 80% of the product already accounted for, there is no way the gov't will let ELBM fail. Won't matter if it's Trent or somebody else at the helm.
Comment by Silverad0 on Nov 01, 2023 6:57am
Trudeau has given huge sums of money to foreign companies that dont have any capacity in Canada.  Yet.  Look at Loyalist Township. I posted on this last week.   Stop dreaming. This puppy thanks to Trent and Co.is DEAD.

Close your position then already. Nobody likes you

Stop posting on a BB and get back to work, Trent.   You've destroyed enough value as is.
Comment by Silverad0 on Oct 31, 2023 7:12am
Starkicker you have made an interesting point and I dont think it was the point you intended to make.  The coast guard cutter project and trans mountain are so over budget its unreal and the only reason is total incompetance of our idiot government. So goes Trent and FCC.
Comment by Starkicker on Oct 31, 2023 10:33am
Silverado, I agree, the incompetence is widespread according to these two articles. Bottom line is people are just terrible managers at pretty much everything. Our government takes it to a whole new level, of course. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/megaprojects-bent-flyvbjerg-1.6759958 https://www.renewcanada.net/feature/getting-to-the-crux-of-time-and-cost-overruns-on-capital-projects/

Unless Trent is posting on this board under a fake handle, I find it hard to believe how many people are coming to his defense. Trent repatedly said the project was fully funded and that it was going to be completed by the end of 2022.  Then in Q3 of last year he pushed it out to spring of this year.  He also  increased the budget by another $10M.  Both were liees.  He ...more
