Enough shorts to trigger stop-loss sales and start a run. If the shorters new that public offering was afoot, then low risk short.

Wasn't there 13 million shorted shares? how could they possibly cover 11 million shares from then to now! they definitely must be the ones who did the financing to cover their short?
