I completely understand the "con" part, but what does the "pd" stand for?

sometimes its best just to keep one wondering , Someone once wrote pump and dump but he was way off just as you are off on the Con.

Actually, I was thinking more along the mining lingo term of "con" as in "Consolidated" and the only pd I could come up with was the late, unlamented Phelps-Dodge!
