Flyht to host spring AEEC/IATA EFB Users Forum

From the Flyht site home page...

"2023 AEEC/IATA EFB Users Forum

Building on the success of the Barcelona EFB Users Forum, Flyht is pleased to host the Spring AEEC/IATA EFB Users Forum, June 20-23, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Details regarding the venue, registration, and opportunities are being finalized and will be announced soon. On behalf of Flyht and the EFB Users Forum Leadership Team, we look forward to seeing you all here!"

This webpage about what the Forum is about states:

"The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Users Forum is a joint activity with IATA that enables airlines and other aircraft operators to state their preferences in the evolution of EFB hardware, software applications, and connectivity to the ground. This ensure operational benefit to the flight deck crew and the economic benefit to the airlines. Flight Operations, Information Technology, Engineering, and Maintenance disciplines are represented among the participants of the EFB Users Forum."

https://aviation-ia.sae-itc.com/subcommittees/electronic-flight-bag-users-forum

It also states the goal, scope and benefit of the Forum.

"The goal is to coordinate development of EFBs among airlines, airframe manufacturers, suppliers, and regulators. The forum will also identify operational and technical trends for the purpose of finding standardized solutions while improving EFB services. In combination with coordinated development, this will help achieve the ultimate goal of a wider range of products, harmonized regulations, expanded capabilities, and lower cost for the benefit of all."

This page is about the Forum held last November in Spain. It was hosted by SITA.

"The EFB Users Forum, in coordination with the IATA EFB Task Force, (was) hosted by SITA at the Hilton Barcelona, Spain. The joint meeting (was) co-chaired by Philipp Haller, Austrian Airlines, and Will Ware, Southwest Airlines.

This conference is a coordinating activity among airlines, cargo carriers, and other aircraft operators intended to facilitate EFB development. Aircraft manufacturers, regulators, EFB suppliers, and others are encouraged to participate in the Forum to advance EFB capabilities."

A quick grab of an enthusiastic comment by an attendee of the November Forum, L2 Aviation, from Twitter...

"Attending the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Users Forum in Barcelona, Spain? WE ARE! Let us know if you are attending and we can connect. This is an essential event for the aviation industry and @L2Aviation will be there!"

Collins Aerospace hosted this event in Annapolis, Maryland, in June, 2022, attended by 300 visitors.

A comment found about it: "The forum brings together avionics professionals specialized in cockpit applications since 2010. It is organized by ARINC Industry Activities, a program that aims to set aviation technical standards and encourage the development of innovative solutions. Following last year’s event that took place as a virtual conference due to Covid-19, we were very pleased to travel to Annapolis and meet again in person!

For the 300 visitors who attended the forum, it was the chance to attend four conference sessions, stroll through the exhibitor’s expo, and exchange views about the latest developments, the next challenges, and the future of the Electronic Flight Bag ecosystem."
