GDNP will stay halted until the TSX approves the deal. I don't know how long these deals take to be approved by the TSX - hopefully someone else around here does !

I know this is apples and oranges but another company I own (small cap Canadian company) over a week ago made an acquisition.  The stock was halted for a week and resumed trading this past Monday.  I don't think this halt will be as long as acquisitions would be more complex with many moving pieces.  It may just be a regulatory approval here or IIROC or whoever is just doing

I'm not convinced this is true. If we look back to the Halt / Resumption on November 30 / December 1st ahead of the IPF announcement the halt was issued at 16:43 after the market was closed, the announcement was made the following morning via PR, and it included the standard note that the deal was subject to TSX approval. The resumption was issued at 12:15 on December 1st.
