San Juan de la Maguana RD. - Residents in various sectors of San Juan de la Maguana complained that they are living in calamities as a result of the collapse of the sewage system. The communities of Guachapita and Vista del Rio define the situation in which they are living as a result of the collapse of the sewage system. 2 million still sitting in bank deposited by the great DR Pres!! Nothing done for these poor people of San Juan yet. We really shouldn't be surprised that GQC hasn't gotten a permit (to conduct environmental studies). The 'Mining Friendly Govt' isn't even 'people friendly' to their own. I really hope that we are pleasantly surprised and out of the blue get the permit signed. The Govt makes no sense at all. Almonte a couple days ago...more Blah blah blah! Same old same old...they talk but refuse to act. Sad really, not just for us longs but for that entire Country. I seriously mean this: GLTA!!

Over a year after the Almonte sorry letter? Does anyone here but me think it was just bait to extract a bribe out of GQC? Every time I have contacted GQC about a time frame for the permit I got the same answer "we don't know and public statements have no meaning as we do not know what these guys are thinking".Almonte should have wrote the sorry letter on toilet paper at least it
