This ain't good

A Sacramento County judge has approved a further stay of litigation requested by the Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District and the city of Tehachapi.

The dispute between the two local agencies stems from the city’s approval of the proposed Sage Ranch residential development in September 2021.

In recent filings, the water district and city told Judge Stephen Acquisto that they remain engaged in settlement discussions and asked for a previously approved stay to be extended until Jan. 7, 2025, with deadlines for related filings due to the court later in January.

From all our meetings, what he has accomplished in so little time with city planners and with political ppl in tehachapi is incredible."  ...more

My personal viewpoint on completing a new/revised water assessment and EIR for Sage Ranch to move ahead is the following -  1. The RUWMP has to be negotiated between the City and Water District to move ahead. 2. Writing of the actual report. A significant portion has been completed but they also need a new engineering firm (previous resigned), the new firm has to agree to the previous work ...more

If accurate, then Sage Ranch is done.

Well, that is very interesting. If that is the case the following issues occur : 1. Greenbriar only has 76 AF in their possesion. 2. Strasser's 115 AF may be on the block for sale to others. 3. Jeff and Heidi sold their rights to Golden Hills. 4. There are 45AF attached to the Scott Ranch which the Ciachurski's own but have also mortgaged recently. The property was for sale at $3M and ...more
