That's the reason I've been curious about the selling by ANON and tracking the short position on GSI. So far, nothing major to see except for what just appears to be some manipulation by ANON to sell at the opening and closing of the trading day.

Naked short selling. Basically shorting shares that don't even exist. Eric Sprott and Save Canadian Mining, in conjunction with the management of the Venture X, have been trying to get this banned once again like it once was. Its killing the Venture and raising funds for junior exploration companies is difficult to say the least because of these scumbags.. Its criminal, and I've donated to

Companies that need to raise capital are at the mercy of naked shorters. It depresses the share price and they can't raise capital at favourable levels if at all. This kills the company or forces them to dilute their shares at ridiculous prices and then gives the naked shorts an opportunity to cover by participating in the financing. A truly disgusting practice.

As I understand it, ''and I could be wrong'', the naked short selling of shares is available ONLY   for any shares not in play .  Meaning being  held by any accounts with NO  sell order. For that purpose, all my shares are ''put in play'',with a long selling price on a month out basis.That takes out  approx 1 % of the shares  ,of

as I understand it that method only works with legal short sales. Naked short shares are just made up out of thin air and are usually covered before they need to be borrowed or even be reported. Its been a problem for a long time. Many large international companies don't list on the TSX for that reason.  Naked short selling is a notorious trading practice that has been largely banned in

Thanks Dave  for the info on naked shorting.  Takeaway I get is that not only is it (naked shorting) very risky, BUT  just one positive P/R update or contract announcement will litterally BURY the shorters. ---On the subject of causing the ability to raise capital,I think if GSI wins a large contract and needs more funds than are available on the L.O.C, lending institutions will be
