This guy just never ceases to amaze me

(1) Announces (without any explanation) that 1 contract was responsible for significant decrease in margins during last financials . WOW;  Just adds a whole lot of ''lack of confidense'' in your shareholder base, and raises a whole new slew of questions going forward. WHY put out that comment in the first place. FIX THE PROBLEM,buddy,  DONT TALK ABOUT IT  . --(2)  Why not institute a NCIB  ,A.S.A P and better still, use a brokered NCIB ,ableing the company to buypass any ''blackout period'' of buying ,should a contract be in the works. (3) HECK: There is $ 658 755.00  due in this week., Jan 9/25 . Instead of going to into the  kitty, and doing nothing , buy back some shares with a NCIB to that value and , institute some confidense back into the shareholder base.

Well who knows Ramman1, the office staff must  be back from the Xmas break, so who knows, maybe we'll have our NCIB by tomorrow.
Comment by fergus2 on Jan 06, 2025 5:15pm
To enlarge on my comments in my previous post, I refer to a comment by davewho made a little over a week ago: He felt that Dyment likely had no idea the market would trash the Q4 results. They were published right against the Christmas break, and the GSI office was immediately closed down for all intents until this week. No chance really for a rebuttal, or for the possibility of an NCIB, until now ...more

If could add a couple of comments. The Seeking Alpha article claims the decreased margins were a one off and I believe something else was mentioned as being a one time event. Without an explanation as to why, certainly creates some doubt in my mind. From a transparency perspective DD could have added a footnote to the financial report and you know explained why this contract was given at a ...more

The Q1 numbers Tropical ,should look very decent. (1) We will not have the revenue  like in  2024 because we do not have that large Septa income like last year, however: we do have the Lexington contract. (2) On the plus side, we have the $658 755.00 into kitty if our man decides to do nothing and use as deposit. (3) The tax situation should not be a factor , as it was  last Q ...more

Thanks ramman1, good analysis. We are all hoping for a good Q1, like the Wolf I am skeptical as well. The Seeking Alpha article is convinced this was a one time discounted contract, time will tell. Your correct that profit margin of $6.50 really sucks in my view. Not one dime of my new TFSA room went into this play. Not firing on all cylinders, this is still a wait see story in my view. If Q1 ...more

I placed my TFSA in SPB Tropical. Could not resist the one time  opportunity.

No NCIB thankyou.......surely dd can find better use for company capital than putting a bid under reasonably valued stock price..........btw, one of the strengths of GSI is that it's financially strong, let's keep it that way by using company capital to keep upgrading technology and product offerings, grow company, grow profits........that's the way to grow stock price, not ncib's.
Comment by matt2018 on Jan 06, 2025 11:02pm
exactly.  Suggesting an NCIB for a microcap with a market cap of $55M and only $37M in annual sales is absurd.  They are no where near that kind of a move.  Investing in growth initiatives should be the priority as you mention and managing the balance sheet through the growth periods so you dont have to go to a future equity raise.

Thank you for your posts matt2018 and tannin. No I don't want an NCIB either. But it took my post to dig you two out of the wall.   And Wolf of Oakville, I’m always glad to read your comments. Your recent analysis was superb, and we need more of those opinions on the GSI board, not less. However you are not completely in the wheelhouse with Dyment, and privy to all matters, just close ...more

Pardon me  mattie2018 , but any future equity raise will mean we have at least  one a very large contract . Give your head a SHAKE MAN.  With aggregate of over 12 million in kitty, and unused credit of 7 million,if we ever need equity markets for additional capital, that means something huge, and you and I will have our millions and be long gone, not having to worry about it . --In ...more

you really think using $2.5M cash to bring down the share float from 94m to 90M is going to serve the company well at this stage? Thats going to rocket the share price higher is it? Its going to really wake up the "investment community". Ya, Ok. You call others here bozo, your a total clown. Thats the problem with these penny stocks. Dude accumulates 50,000 shares and think their Bill ...more

Problem with a guy like yourself is that you have my views COMPLELY WRONG, right off the start.----The NCIB  I suggested has very little to do ,actually (ALMOST nothing to do),with getting the share price higher.----  A  lIttle history will tell you, I suggested a ''brokered NCIB, not a ''company NCIB'', not sure you know the difference. --Couple that with ...more

Been doing this a long time. When investor makes statement like "I can take comfort in my peronal equity positions" usually means they are doing lousy. The ones that do very well, never talk about it. Main reason, things can turn very quickly in the markets and one could be made to look quite foolish. Something you have no problem at.

ramman1 and matt2018, if I may offer my two cents here. You guys are butting heads over nothing, because DD doesn't give a rats petweey what either one of thinks should be done at this stage. Today is the 9th of January, my focus and concern is on the Q1 numbers coming up usually by month's end. That is when I will be reavaluating this company, don't get me wrong I like GateKeeper ...more

You are absolutely correct Tropical ,in your post . I merely made a discussion point about the possible  activation of a NCIB ,which was a talking point only . I guess I over reacted when I was told by a poster  it was an absurd thought.------ I was just reviewing some of the old interviews with Cameron, when our CEO, mentioned numerous times,''we are really undervalued here ...more

ramman1 that is what this forum is all about. Discussion about this company, now hopefully we can all do that in a respectfull manner. You have nothing to apologise to me for, I suspect that if the SP was sitting at even $.080 cents the mood on the board would be much different. I get your point about the brokered NCIB and better rules for purchasing back shares. I'm not sure if that is the ...more

Thank you. I was looking for article written as follow up to Q4.
Comment by Tropicalsun on Jan 08, 2025 1:28pm
And that was what you were provided with in the Seeking Alpha article link that Ottawa10 gave. There is also another article with a somewhat different spin provided by the Wolf of Oakville. If you scroll back a few pages of previous posts, you will find it. I believe it was given by the poster ramman1.
