VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 10, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Lithium Corp. (“American Lithium” or the “Company”) (TSX-V:LI | NASDAQ:AMLI | Frankfurt:5LA1) is pleased to announce the results of its updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) for the Falchani Lithium (“Falchani”) project located in Puno, southwestern Peru. I think this project will be extremely difficult to finance or even build. Crashing Li prices for carbonates combined with the location in the Macusani area of Peru. Macusani has always been a Qechua region that is hostile to mining development. Many riots in the past saw companies attacked and people killed. That sentiment has not gone away. The people hostile to mining devlopment you are aluding to are the Aymaras, which protested violently against the Santa Ana project in 2011. which BCM wanted to develop in their lands, in the southern area of Puno. Quechuas are not anti mining. In fact, just 50km away from Corani is the San Rafael tin mine, which has provided a lot of money for the region of Puno. Regarding Peru, you don't ...more
