Dougs take on omicron variant

Doug was recently asked on ceo.ca what the impact of omicron variant would have on operations.

here is his response. ( he is @Galvanizer )

@Cashcosts @theGalvanizer Worst case obviously what is the monthly cash burn now that Santana is built if they shut it all down again due to Omicron Covid?

@TheGalvanizer Burning $1.5 m approx a month as a company but over half that would be mining that would cease in your example. Further, last year when mines had to shut down for two months the least impacted were the heap leach operations where leaching activities albeit at a slow pace continued with pumping systems still running etc. so don’t foresee an issue. Delta didn’t create a second shutdown in Mexico. It was only April/May at the outset of the pandemic so while i think we are pretty insulated regardless I think a shutdown like last spring is unlikely given no talk of it through several significant variants since then. This quarter we are also seeing that burn further mitigated through gold sales. I expect when we look back at q4 when the year end financials are done next year that we are generating net cash or very close to it as a company through the final 3 months of this year. A position that should pave the way for a declaration of commercial production early in 2022
