MTLO competitor - $1.3 billion CDN Cisco Acquisition

MTLO market cap is sub $60 million. A similar product could not likely be built for that amount and starting from zero at the ground up.

User experience monitoring comparables - May 2020, Cisco acquires ThousandEyes. ThousandEyes. ThousandEyes raised +/- $100 million to build their user experience monitoring platform.

What was the deal worth? $1 billion'ish

Martello doesnt have 1 product, that is the issue they have demostrated a complete inability to integrate anything (elfiq was dropped beacuse it didnt have a multitenant offering; same probelm with the o365 solution) .  Many on this board talk about "martello's product"  the reality is it is disperate monitoring tools that dont work together as a seamless solution.  ...more

DYI network monitoring does not work for all organizations.  That is why Citrix, Thousand Eyes and MTLO have a growing number of users on their platforms.  MTLO's work from home monitoring platform has not been launched yet so it is a bit too early to throw it under the bus.

havent they been touting it since COVID started - take a look at all of their marketing literature?  Only know are they talking about "investing," they are investing in tablestakes - that is the issue.  If you have read any of my posts over the last year I speak about this lake of monitoring when everyone is off-net.  Been a year...no multi-tenant solution and no " ...more

Not true.  Running a Powerpoint presentation off a network has gotten worse.  Obviously some organizations can muddle through this, but other organizations cannot.  In IT world there is no blanket solution.  There are countless niches, this is just one more.

Who cares...so powerpoints has some tiny latency- guess what it ain't the network- the connection between the data centre where o365 resides and the network is the problem.  Most of Martello's case studies talk about gizmo monitoring exchange-  which is old af...hence why they need to turn an enterprise solution into service provider tool.

Who cases.  The people paying for the service.  There is a huge demand for data to obtain insight into how their networks are functioning.  If you are VP of IT and could not care less about measuring your infrastructure then you will soon be out of a job.

Oh no I believe every org wants to measure and optimize services.  But excel isn't highest on the list.  Pos systems, databases, network connectivity, call controllers, video collaboration, billing, trunks, firewalls, edge routers are all really important ...even more so if your a service provider you want to ensure your services are running optimally; business critical ones that is. ...more

and I am not talking DYI...you can get nagios for free....lots of partners use it.  Zabix is a great solution you can put in azure that can monitor all of the services while pinging any end point.  Dont need Martello's made up "DEM" solution.

Hi. Will you please be specific in terms of the limitations or shortcomings of Martello in comparison to ThousandEyes. I still miss the complete picture.

Interesting. It sorta proves DEM is a viable tool.  Good news.
