Remember Feb 2009

The other side of the V is just as sharp and you will be jumping up and down with joy when it comes.  In the mean time tough it out.  Corrections are nasty things but they don't last.  Quality stocks always bounce back.

When will NFG bounce back?  I have no idea but if you sell you will probably miss it.

hello Retiredgeo, any thoughts on why drilling results are taking so long with so many rigs working?
Comment by Retiredgeo on Jul 06, 2022 11:35am
The assay labs are overwhelmed and new lab in Val d'or is still undergoing qualifying tests.  We saw the same **** in spades last summer as well.  Drills don't equal results without assay labs.

so with the delays in assay results do you believe the backlog is getting worse ?
Comment by likeike on Jul 06, 2022 12:02pm
What delays? Are recirculating last year for some reason? IKE
Comment by megacopper on Jul 06, 2022 12:31pm
Why does everyone keep talking about delays with the assay results. They had a news release 4 weeks ago with assay results. Just off the top of my head I remember 42 g/t over 11.75 meters, 55 g/t over 5 meters and I think another news release about the same time had a couple meters of 89 g/t.  So really in the mining world going 4 weeks with no assay results is no big deal ...more

Don't be taken in by this basher implying something is wrong. Just because a company does not release drill results does not mean they do not have them. They only have to release info in a fair and timely manner and that give a lot of leway. Interesting TD just crossed 900 shares on a buy from CIBC. Could the bottom be truly in? IKE

Those two press releases released a total of 7 shallow holes.  The previous press release of May 4 released two more shallow holes.  Where are the Keates deeps?  Where is Lotto, Golden joint, Dome etc.  Either they are not finding anything or everything is in a big heap at the assay labs.  I will believe the latter.

NFG has the luxury of now having three labs doing assay work for them. In addition to Eastern Analytical, NFG also uses ALS and now MSALABS (Chrysos PhotonAssay). Not sure if any other Newfoundland explorer uses any lab other than Eastern Analytical.....? NFG's PR dated May 5 states that it had "...commenced shipping drill core samples from its Queensway project to MSALAB’s newly ...more

Alwayslong, While I hear the cautionary note that you are sounding - I would think that the company has already factored the cost of drilling + assay costs into their budget.  At this moment, having the data-set from the ongoing programs, is I think, more important to moving ahead than worrying overly much about any immediate cash-raise.  Given the ideas of what we think the company is ...more

eldreco, yes, I agree the more data the better and I'd also prefer full steam ahead re. drilling as much as possible....provided the labs can keep up within reason and return that data in a timely fashion. Nonetheless, drilling is much less expensive and time-consuming than building a mine in an inflationary, rising interest rate environment, so NFG might as well go for it and utlilize the ...more

With 12 drills turning I believe the backlog is back to 30,000 m.  The next press release should give the torid details.
