The problem with the oxide ore at Atlanta is that most of it is tied up in silica. In order to recover the gold when they were mining it in the 70s and 80s they had to mill it. Even then it only recovered about 80%. It won't heap leach. These problems were widely known when Meadow Bay Gold had the property and was one of the reasons it took so long to find somebody to buy it. The grades look ...more

Great post.  Have you ever looked at Viva Gold ( V.VAU). ?  Prospect area just north of Tonapah. Had some good intercepts, quite a bit of drilling. Low market cap and located in an area that a mine could probably get permitted.

I contacted the company regarding the silica and they are doing a number of studies on the best way to separate and recover the gold...they didn't seem as concerned about the silica.  Maybe the technologies are better than when Meadow Bay had the property.
