Nations Royalty Corp. (Ticker: NRC.v) strategically integrates royalties, income, commodity streams, and annual payment entitlements from resource projects on First Nations' Lands, to drive growth, diversification, and value akin to those seen in publicly traded royalty companies.
NRC holds annual payment entitlements from several prominent properties in Canada on the Nisga’a Nation's land, including the KSM Project, the high-grade Brucejack gold mine, the Premier Gold Project, the Red Mountain Gold Deposit, and the Kitsault Molybdenum Deposit.
In its latest update, NRC announced a key development regarding its royalty interest in the KSM Project, operated by Seabridge Gold Inc.
According to the announcement, the British Columbia Provincial Government has granted the KSM project the “Substantially Started” designation. This status ensures the Provincial Environmental Assessment Certificate for the project remains valid indefinitely, securing the project's ongoing development.
Located in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, the KSM Project is the world's largest permitted copper-gold development project, boasting substantial Proven and Probable Reserves of 47.3 million ounces of gold and 7.3 billion pounds of copper.
Since the issuance of the Environmental Assessment Certificate, Seabridge has invested over $800 million into the KSM Project, making significant progress with the construction of key road and power infrastructure, as well as camp facilities.
NRC's interest in the KSM Project is tied to the KSM Payment Entitlement. This entitlement, based on the tax payable by the project operator under the British Columbia Mineral Tax Act, guarantees NRC an annual benefit payment over the project's lifespan.
This entitlement was negotiated by the Nisga’a Nation and became part of NRC’s portfolio through a broader royalty arrangement. The Nisga’a Nation is a key stakeholder and major shareholder in Nations Royalty.
