Subsea Tiebacks

Read these articles folks. Tons of smaller oil fields globally are being produced via tie backs. This idea that only "billion barrel" fields can be produced is complete nonsense.

The world consumes, and therefore produces, over 100 million barrels every day of oil. This idea that only the "best" and "easiest" barrels can be produced is utter nonsense. Hence innovative methods like subsea tie backs. For anyone concerned, this is how Kawa and Wei will be produced one day. Most likely tied into a larger developed by Exxon JV to the north. Not the difficult!

Yup wcp, they're now even producing gas fields using subsea tiebacks to FPSO like the project in Israel:   https://www.gasworld.com/story/energean-takes-fid-on-1-2bn-israel-gas-field/2141660.article/

Energian developed this projects to begin with as a 8 bcm fpso for a 4-5 bcm production rate from 2 fields, to tie in future discoveries in the area from other licences they had. But why go so far, all the projects in guyana are hubs, a tie back of multipule discoveries to one big fpso.  They corentyne "non discoveries" has nothing to do with that.  Do what you want with your ...more

We don't need to guess what XOM and TTE are doing because they have told us. They look for a larger deposit surrounded by additional deposits w/in tieback distance to support extremely large hub developments.  That's why I've been talking about tieback distance for 3 years here. The fact that XOM has been exploring the north of Wei-Kawa very aggressivie is a good sign. The realy ...more

It's why Venezuela is going to lose their Citgo refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana this October to creditors who were wronged by arbitrary banana republic style changes in regulation. Why XOM walked away from a planned $2 billion shale development in Colombia because Petro decided, in all his commie style insanity, to obsolete hydrocarbons and go green. Now Colombia is importing LNG cause ...more

I guess that some can tell that I'm a little peeved. All of these companies with zero operating activities in Canada or the US listing their shares on Canadian and American exchanges to access the Canadian and American capital markets. This is gonna be the poster child for investors to stay the f away from any company not operating in the countries that they are listed in. Go list your new ...more
