Progressive Planet We know the challenges with reducing cement's carbon footprint.
This article has a great graph showing 51% of emissions come from the chemical reaction to convert limestone into clinker.
The easiest way to reduce CO2 emissions is to use less clinker, whose main ingredient is calcium. The Romans figured this out a thousand years ago, replacing much of the calcium with volcanic ash, where main ingredient is amorphous silica.
We have replaced as much as 50% of clinker with PozGlass with better 28-day compressive strength. It is encouraging to see many companies addressing this challenge!
