Four mln roughly shears traded in total in Nov. in Canada. So, half the months trading volume is still a short? We can only dream...

You are reading the chart wrong. The red line is total volume traded for 2 weeks ended Nov 15 (2,510,318) and the grey line is short volume traded (165,100).

Conclusion: shorting had very little to do with the stock crash. Margin calls and longs tired of mgmt incompetence did the damage.
