Another strange press release...I thought the info in the release was bland but inoffensive, until I looked at the seismic data Recon chose to add to their release. Why would they put this actual data in the release? As an interpreting geophysicist, I can tell you the data quality is abysmal. Are these lines even migrated? They're full of diffractions, they have low signal to noise ratio, and very little data below 1 second, which translates to a depth of at most 5000 feet.
This data will help with regional geologic interpretation, but it's not some magical "Rosetta Stone" that will make the next well a gusher. This is still a long game, not a lottery ticket. It will take years to prove (or disprove) this basin.
