Casing???

Just read release and scratching head over wording.
Why run full MDT ......more importantly , if its dry, then why would they run casing and do cement job "after" completing logging? Why not just perform full P+A cement job?

Am I only one to notice this, genuinely interested to hear.

You can't perform open-hole logging behind casing, but you already know that. See what the open-hole logging program brings. Should take 3 or 4 days, Does anyone know if they cored any intervals in this well or if they will perfrom sidewall coring on wireline after the fact? if sidewall coring, could take longer. All dependant on hole condtions.

Stiff here - the post is a bit strange. Usually you find something before you announce casing the well. And the release has no mention of any presence of hydrocarbons - oil/gas shows. Everything may be all OK but so far it looks like a scientific initiaitve.

Hiya Stiff.....nobody .....nobody.... would go on to run casing and cement the last open hole section "after" they had completed the final logging operations on any well, it doesn't happen.....that's before we even start to talk about coring or MDT. Cheers
