I made a lot of money with this stock I guess I was one of the lucky ones but I am not sure hat just because oil was found off shore, it won't be found in land as well I know it is a gamble and I am willing to take that gamble I never risk more money than I can afford to lose

Peter ...you must do your geological research .....understand how hydro carbons are formed ...then look at the mega continent Pangea ...and you can figure out where the Kavango basin was during the Permian and jerrasic era ....90% of all hydrocarbon were formed during those times .....between 90 and 270 million years ago ...good luck ...ibuy some shares in gran Tierra ..

In 1993, while prospecting for diamonds in eastern Labrador, Al Chislett and Chris Verbiski discovered a large nickel deposit at Voisey's Bay. The discovery was made by accident while sampling an iron-stained rock outcrop.  Discovery  In 1993 ...more

Everytime you post I have to fight to urge to comment and correct you.  YOU clearly are the one who needs to do more research on how hydrocarbons are formed.  please just stop posting.

Sorry Frank understands - yes there is a basin here but if the source rocks aren't there ... there will not be any oil accumulated.

How can you be so certain?   Not all geologists are created equal. Think for yourself.   from a web search   "Yes, there is potential for petroleum in the Damara Fold Belt and Kavango Rift Basin in the Kalahari Desert.  The Canadian oil and gas company ReconAfrica is exploring the area for oil and natural gas.  Evidence of petroleum Gas seeps ...more

From your web search: gas seeps: I don't know anything about gas seeps core samples: I haven't seen any core analysis on their wells seismic data: seismic data can't show carbonate reservoir rocks or oil shows  geochemical data:  yes, there might be "potential" Reco: yes, they have drilled wells.  They will drill more wells.  They haven't shown ...more

I am glad you are still around and "monitoring" RECO However, I doubt the company would lie about gas seeps I know there is a risk I am a chemist, not a geologist I am willing to take that risk I really appreciate your comments

Stiff here - Guys I am not a geolgist but I have a colleague who is a geolgist who is working offshore in Namibiba. I asked him about Recon and he said that the basin they are drilling into isn't oil bearing ... for some kind of geological reason. Take this for what it is - Stiff isn't a geoscientist.
