There should be no doubt that if they had anything good to say, it would be said/released. Not releasing information that is a potential stock catalyst (witholding material information) would be illegal in many cases. When things are this quiet assume the worst.

Been doing this for over 30 years and I understand the reason for having an IR person - and it's not just to put out press releases.
