I am going to take my bag of popcorn down to the south end of South Padre Island to watch the launch, way more exciting than watching these losers do absolutely nothing.

What a perfect day for a launch, skies so clear we could see the booster separation, and watch the booster all the way back to the launch pad where it landed perfectly in the "chopstick" jaws. The coolest part was the massive sonic boom, as the booster was still going supersonic before firing its engines to land, which was only about a few thouand feet above the ground. The second

Tylerr, that must have felt awesome to see that rocket launch! I was able to see the launch of Discovery shuttle way back, although it was from quite a distance.  The actual morning it was to launch, it was scrubbed due to higher wind than allowed so we had to start home, but saw it from about 50 miles away the next day, and the exhaust plume was still awesome. We were about 5 miles away, which is pretty close in rocket-launching terms. Sure wish I had gotten to see a shuttle launch, that would have been equally awesome. I hope SBM "launches" soon as well. Otherwise, this has been nothing but a complete scam.
