Wedge Mine -
Historical - The Wedge Deposit was mined by Cominco and produced 1.503MT grading (2.88% Cu, 0.65% Pb, 1.81% Zn, 20.6 g/t Ag). Murray Brook Project near Bathurst, N.B. The new estimate increases measured and indicated sulphide resources up by 18% to 21.4 million tonnes containing an additional 670 million lb. copper equivalent. The Murray Brook deposit is now known to contain 15.8 million measured tonnes grading 0.43% copper, 2.60% zinc, 0.92% lead, 0.52 g/t gold, and 39.0 g/t silver. Seen another way, the measured resource has a grade of 1.42% copper equivalent or 8.65% zinc equivalent. The indicated portion is now 5.3 million tonnes grading 0.52% copper, 2.14% zinc, 0.85% lead, 0.67 g/t gold, and 37.3 g/t silver, containing 1.41% copper equivalent or 8.58% zinc equivalent. STRATMAT ( i find interesting ) https://www.onemine.org/documents/geology-of-the-stratmat-boundary-and-heath-steele-n-5-zones-bathurst-camp-northern-new-brunswick-a6701408-1e86-4e3a-8ae3-4dfe8644a28d- The Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag ore deposits of the Boundary and N-5 zones near Bathurst, New Brunswick, occur in a polydeforrned volcano-sedimentary sequence that is part of the Ordovician Tetagouche Group. Massive and disseminated sulfides are hosted by an argillaceous to cherty sedimentary sequence that is stratigraphically Wlderlain by a siliceous fragmental unit and is overlain by a feldspar-rich crystal tuff and related tuffaceous rocks. The deposits have a low iron sulfide content relative to that of most stratabound sulfide deposits of the Bathurst-Newcastle mining district. The ore is commonly associated with chlorite- and talc-rich sediments. The N-5 deposit is considered to be the fault-displaced extension of the Boundary deposit. The Boundary deposit is estimated to contain 891 000 t grading 3.31% Pb, 7.96% Zn, 0.32% Cu and 44 g/t Ag; the estimate for the N-5 zone is 330 000 t grading 3.24% Pb, 7.15% Zn, 0.33% Cu, and 37 g/t Ag. The ore is processed at 1000 tpd at the Heath Steele mill.
Stratmat Deposit Thin, elongated, rich grade located just above Heathe Steele Mine.
- low iron ( yet
other reports state
high mag anomaly )
- satallite map zoomed in reveal blonde sandy pit / tills
no... aqua blue sulphides ar surface..
-
felsic, feldspars is where the magic happens ( mineralization )
Feldspar Feldspar is a group of rock-forming aluminium tectosilicate minerals, also containing other cations such as sodium, calcium, potassium, or barium. NB juniors should try to focus on a few extra minerals - US switching up to
zinc battery / storage -more free electrons (
more energy capacity )
Copper - always in demand
Phosphorus - ( doping computer chips )
Borates - ( doping computer chips ) NB hosts borates
Uranium - runs with the granites, feldspars, ptassium, phasphates
Good Map for peer referrence ( yet... Slam and Nine are not plotted )
Second Map reveals Slam's claims + Nine's Wedge PUMA - is also focusing on carbs and feldspars, ( NB Macintyre Brook Deposit ) The mineralization is hosted in brecciated felsic rocks, with hematite, quartz, carbonate, iron
carbonates and feldspar. The assays suggest the mineralized zone is dominated by potassic feldspar (avg.> 2% K)
I look at NB as one massive cauldron below.
either... hot hydrochloric + silisic + fluro acid spewed upward via faults and small fissures
chloric green staining geology, some go unaffected blonde, while iron sulphides turn aqua blue.
Second theory involves... analyzing open pits, quarries and seeing pod staining that is only
surficial, 20 - 30m deep of staining with no trace to origin further below suggests NB long ago
was submerged and ocean chloric staining penetrated only so deep -
takeaway is...
chloride meets iron sulphide = reveales iron via aqua blue staining.
Other regions of, NB
have distinct ruddy red oxide outcrops - no chloric alteration.
While other zones in NB ... surface iron appears with heavy pyrite or... siderite.
What's on Quebec's Mind ? lol Two Quebec-based companies hope to turn this existing quarry into a large mine near Dalhousie in northern New Brunswick. The area is home to a vast deposit of
pozzolan, a volcanic rock that can be used by the
cement industry to lower emissions. (Michael Heenan/CBC)
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/dalhousie-open-pit-rock-mine-1.7192980 Possolan for Cement or more like... loaded with minerals...
Look at the rock photo in article.
JAKE LEE is showing the Edge project.... would this also be called the Dam Lake Project too ?
Though only gold has been explored - what caught my eye ? The basal till unit from 0.15 to 1.15 metres (m) in hole DH15 was comprised of sand and clay and assayed 4.76 g/t gold. This gold-bearing till was
underlain by banded volcanic tuff from 1.85m to the end of the hole at 4.0 m. https://www.juniorminingnetwork.com/junior-miner-news/press-releases/792-tsx-venture/sxl/155618-slam-acquires-dam-lake-gold-project.html
I'd definitely be redirecting my field crews to place a tad more focus on,
volcanics, tuffs, felsics, feldspar, even clays, muds... looking for carbonate ash minerals
that have not yet converted with strong acids.
And... staking claims from upper Heathe to Wedge filling in the gap.
Cheers....
