West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV: WRLG, OTCQB: WRLGF) has reported encouraging drill results from its 100% owned Madsen Mine, situated in the Red Lake Gold District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada. This first round of underground drilling at the North Austin Zone has yielded positive intercepts, highlighting the potential for significant resource growth at the Madsen Mine.
Madsen Mine North Austin Zone Highlights:
-Hole MM23X-02-4980-003 intersected 10.28m at 27.15 g/t Au, including 1m at 226.85 g/t Au.
-Hole MM23X-02-4980-001 revealed 8.5m at 22.31 g/t Au, including 0.55m at 186.56 g/t Au and 1m at 80.76 g/t Au.
-Hole MM23X-02-4980-004 encountered 7.36m at 8.98 g/t Au, including 1m at 40.81 g/t Au.
Shane Williams, President & CEO, expressed optimism, stating, “We are very encouraged by this first round of results out from the underground drilling campaign at the Madsen Mine. Our geologic team quickly recognized the exploration potential in the North Austin area, which represents a high-grade expansion target that sits very close to existing underground infrastructure.”
The North Austin Zone, adjacent to current underground development, is deemed a high-priority expansion target for potential early development during future mine restart and production. The zone remains open down-dip and along strike to the northeast, underscoring its growth potential.
Since the commencement of underground drilling in September, WRLG has completed 848m of Exploration drilling and 3,369m of Definition drilling. With 70 diamond drill holes for 4,217m completed, fire and metallic screen assays have been returned for 65 holes.
Wedge Deposit Results:
WRLG also reported results from the Wedge deposit, with a total of 11 diamond drill holes for 2,995.5m completed between September 8 and October 3. Notable highlights include:
-Hole WDG-23-010 intersected 3.0m at 5.50 g/t Au, including 1.5m at 10.50 g/t Au.
-Hole WDG-23-001 revealed 1.35m at 10.10 g/t Au.
-Hole WDG-23-006 encountered 1.0m at 13.63 g/t Au.
The objective of the Wedge drill program was to expand and upgrade existing mineral resources, contributing to the overall understanding of the deposit.
Future Plans:
WRLG’s focus for the Madsen Mine remains on the expansion of the current mineral resource. WRLG plans to continue drilling in the more continuous and higher-grade portions of the Austin, South Austin, and North Austin Zones throughout 2024.
