"THE ART OF WAR"
Although the hardware part of this industry is often described as an oligopoly, there is no reason to believe a marketing war does continualy prevail amongst the key participants.
However, one thing that is safe to conclude over the last number of years is that their chosen key weapon used in their wars has been the emphasis put on the weighted requirement they put on "SPEED." and questionably the lack of evidence of real world speed. So, while legacy single channel was so preoccupied with providing speed, lets consider other marketing strategies that may have been in play. Let`s leave that up to you to answer that yourself.
Do you remember Edgewaters little tweet about "WiFi`s dirty little secret," and what 90% of industry experts stated? Did you not only taste it, but chew, swallow, and digest what was actually said?
Okay, add all this in conjunction with the most recent developments cited by YFI, and ask yourself? In this marketing war have those who relied mainly on the tactic of speed, not drastically unwittingly exposed not only their flanks, but maybe more importantly their rearguard defences?
