Why is this trading so high is what i like to know

I think simply because most of the sellers have sold, liquidity is not stellar, and in that setting shorts are covering.  Ie shorts are not leaving much of their profit on the table at this point so might as well exit positions.  Intrinsic value is nil here.

VG has defaulted on its short term debt and all of its massive long term debt has been 'called in'. The company has no means of paying off that debt because they have no longer have a producing gold mine. As soon as VG runs through all of its remaining cash cleaning up the mess they caused, they will be forced to declare bankruptcy.
