YTG still monitoring and drilling holes. Lets say I hate all forms of mining pollution especially in the Haldane area and the Silver Trail. Alexco and Hecla shout out to you.. Ok.
Then the VG Dublin Gulch incident happened.
YTG needs to give some idea of what was in the groundwater and surface water prior to the loss of containment. If it is to be cleaned up then only the portion attributal to VG should be treated else YTG should have the taxpayers clean the entire groundwater system in the Yukon from mining.pollution. Have fun! To beleive that this is the only groundwater pollution in the Yukon is to beleive in tooth fairies.
The Yukon has other polluted mining sites and judging by scope VG is not the greatest spill. What exactly is driving this reaction by YTG, we'll see.
Currently my guess is 200m + to "clean" up on a five year timeline and then remediation and monitoring in perpetuity with no chance of recovering losses is not doing any favours.
Might have been better to "play ball" with VG get the gold out while cleaning up under operational status.
The last I had heard was JM was out beating on doors looking for some financing. Would have been ugly financing but perhaps better that what's happing now. We'll see.
